At last, a number puzzle with a body count! Combining the senseless violence of Grand Theft Auto with the brain power of Sudoku, this L.A. Times web game lets players shoot, kill and carjack their way across South Central to collect clues for a numerical mystery.

Grand Theft Sudoku was created by the newspaper's web innovation team, which is in charge of artificially inflating website traffic with super-long photo galleries, celebrity fluff and other click magnets.

Next up: Bagpipe Hero, the videogame that took Scotland by storm, and SimHeadline, which will replace boring news coverage with a simulation game in which players control the lives of politicians, criminals and other characters ripped from that day's headlines.
